4th April 2018 – CME on Perinatology
ISOPARB Hyderabad Chapter organized a CME on “Perinatal cases” at Green Park, Begumpet. This talk was followed by Panel Discussion on “Cafeteria Approach To Managing Fibroids – Delivering What The Patient Wants” moderated by Dr. Rooma Sinha, President, ISOPARB Hyderabad and the Panellists were Dr. Rani Reddy, Dr. Y. 27th February 2018 – Yuva Quiz at Vijay Marie Hospital The ISOPARB YUVA Quiz 2018 Zonal round was organized by ISOPARB Hyderabad Chapter under the aegis of ISOPARB South Zone from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm at Auditorium, Gyneac Department, Vijay Marie Hospital. The Topic of Quiz this year was “Genital Malignancies” and it was attended by more 30 Postgraduates . Dr. Madhavi and Dr. Rupali Waghmare were Toppers who will represent ISOPARB South Zone at the Finals during the ISOPARB National Conference to be held in Mumbai on 10th & 11th March 2018.
The Quiz initiated with Dr. Madhumathi, Vice President, ISOPARB Hyderabad explaining the various rules and specifics of the YUVA Quiz. It was attended by more than 30 Postgraduates. The preliminary round was a written round where the eight highest scoring students were selected and formed into teams of Two. Dr. Sarada Jt. Secretary, ISOPARB, Hyd conducted the final round. 10th February 2018 – Yellow Ribbon CME on Endometriosis ISOPARB Hyderabad Chapter in association with Endometriosis Society Of India conducted Yellow ribbon CME on Endometriosis at Apollo Medical College Auditorium, Jubilee Hills. It was attended by more than 150 Obstetricians and Gyneacologists and was supported by Abbott India Pvt. Ltd. The Program started with the prayer followed by welcome address by Dr. Swapna Y, Secretary, ISOPARB Hyderabad. The program was divided into 4 Sessions. The 1st Session- The Basics was chaired by Dr. Priyamvada Reddy, Dr. P. Balamba and Dr. T. Vindhya. The Speakers and their Topics for this session were: Dr. Mahita Reddy spoke on “From Pathophysiology To Diagnosis: Unraveling The Enigma” followed by a talk on “Pelvic Pain & Endometriosis- Can A Pain Specialist Help? “ By Dr. Pawan Kumar Bichal. Dr. Sasikala Kola, Coordinator SZ, ISOPARB India gave a wonderful talk on “Adolescent Endometriosis- How To Help Her To Bloom”. The session ended withDr. Swapna Yendru’s amazing speech on “Adenomyosis- Strategies Before Offering Hysterectomy”. The 2nd Session was a Symposia chaired by Dr. Vidya Ranga Rao and Dr. Shanti Reddy. The Speakers and their Topics for this session were: Dr. Rooma Sinha gave an insghtful talk on Why Awareness? and Dr. Pradip Kumar Mitra from Kolkata spoke about “Organising Awareness Program In Schools”.
The 3rd Session was a Medical Session chaired by Dr. B.V. Shobha , Dr. Anupama Hari and Dr. Jayanti Reddy. The Speakers and their Topics for this session were: Dr. P. Das Mahapatra from Kolkata gave a talk on “Giving Patients A Choice: Medical Therapy As An Adjunct Or Alternative To Surgery” followed by a talk on “Can Postoperative Medical Management Prevent Recurrences? Which Patient and Which Therapy?” by Dr. Ragini Verma, Surat. This session ended with Dr. Meeta Singh’s talk on “How To Handle Menopausal Symptoms With History Of Endometriosis”. The last session was named “Surgical Session” and was chaired by Dr. L. Fahmida Bano, Dr. D. Pratibha and Dr. Prameela Shekhar. The Speakers and their Topics for this session were: Dr. Anshumala Shukla from Mumbai talked on “Endometriomas: Minimizing Recurrences and Optimizing Ovarian Function”. Dr. Sasikala shared her experience on “Tackling Hysterectomy in the Setting of Advanced Endometriosis” followed by Dr. Bijoy Nayak, from New Delhi gave a talk on “Rectovaginal Endometriosis”. The program concluded with a panel discussion onEndometriosis and Infertility- Approach and Management strategies moderated by Dr. Mamata Deendayal and Dr. Aarti Deendayal and panellist were Dr. Indrani Lodh, Dr. G. Swati, Dr. Krishna Kumari, Dr. A. Panda, Dr. Durga Rao and Dr. Kadambari.

11th January 2018 -Oration & Workshops on Respectful Maternity Care #ROARINDIA18 Fernandez Hospital Educational and Research Foundation in association with ISOPARB Hyderabad organised the Eleventh Dr. Lourdes C. Fernandez Oration 2018 on ‘Kindness, Compassion and Respect in Maternity Care: Turning Silence into a ROAR’ by Dr. Sheena Byrom at Sapphire Ballroom, Marriott Hotel on 11th January 2018 . It was attended by more the 120 Gynaecologists from around the city.
Program started with the prayer followed by welcome address by Dr. Evita Fernandez, MD , Fernandez group of hospitals, who gave an introduction to the issue of respectful maternity care and how globally, women’s voices are growing louder in demanding the right to dignity, respect and kindness during childbirth. She asked the clinicians to heed this call – to stop…..reflect……. and change practices/attitudes wherever necessary. She emphasized the urgent need for Professional Midwifery in India to escalate to the national level. We were honoured to have Dr. Sheena Byrom with us to deliver the Oration & Workshops on Respectful Maternity Care #ROARINDIA18 on Kindness, Compassion, and Respect in Maternity Care: Turning Silence into a ROAR “. The Oration session began with Dr. Evita’s visual presentation of the life and family of Dr. Lourdes Fernandez and the humble beginnings of Fernandez Hospital. She then introduced Dr. Sheena Byrom as a practising midwife who has worked within the NHS for more than 35 years and is a Board member of the Royal College of Midwives.
Dr. Sheena’s talk about “Kindness, Compassion and Respect in Maternity Care : Turning Silence into a Roar” was an emotion-filled recount of her midwifery experience around the world, backed by impactful visual images, some even involving her own grandchild.. She concluded by showing how a little bit of understanding, empathy and concern by caregivers could help women cope dramatically with deploring birthing scenarios.
The talk was followed by an interactive discussion where Dr. Sheena answered queries on different perspectives on the subject It was attended by more than 80 Obstetricians and Gyneacologists. |
4th January 2017 – CME on ” Oncology: Musical, Mystical, Medical, Methodical, Monumental, Mythical, Mythological” ISOPARB Hyderabad Chapter organized 2018’s first academic CME on “ Oncology: Musical, Mystical, Medical, Methodical, Monumental, Mythical, Mythological ” at NIIMS, Banjara Hills. This was In continuation to our CME on Obstetrics where Dr. Dattatreya had spoken on ” Updates On Cervical Cancer Vaccination”. The CME was attended by more then 80 Obstetrician and Gyneacologists . Program started with the prayer followed by welcome address and brief report of the past programmes of ISOPARB Hyderabad by Dr. Madhumathi. She highlighted the successful meetings of 2017. The Speakers were: Dr. P.S. Dattatreya gave a wonderful talk on “Oncology: Musical, Mystical, Medical, Methodical, Monumental, Mythical, Mythological”. Oncology was never so easy but Dr. Dattatreya’s efforts made it interesting. Dr. Deepthi Guduru gave a talk on Sail Through Menopause Blues.
